Other
Thanks to Irina, Sara and Nils who worked on this with me.
I also want to give credit to everyone else who put effort into making the other clips!
To the first years at Kävesta Animationslinjen 2010-2011!
6. Free Style
That's supposed to be 2008-is, not 2009-ish.*
(Sorry for posting the prearranged portfolio pages, they already included descriptions so I figured it would be easier on all of us if I simply posted them this way. Not to worry, though, all the original files are included on the CD which you should have by the time of your deadline!)
5. Perspective
1-Point-Perspective: While it did turn out leaning a bit, I just wanted to explain how to build a glass vase with the help of perpective, working from a rektangle, creating a cylinder, measuring out the diameter and creating circles that fit into eachother.
2-Point-Perspective: Similarly to 1-point-perspective before it, I'm show off how to build up a house but this time with 2 perspective points. I was also aiming to show that I am able to keep the integrity of the structure even if I added details such as windows or a facade made of wood.
Distance: A form of chart explaining my understanding of how to construct distance with figures without it without the figures losing their original size even if they move closer or further back from the 'camera'.
On top you can see the characters are all lined up to show their respective size compared to eachother, on the bottom left you can see how I'm utilizing the technique shown on the bottom right to keep the figures in their proper size.

3.Storyboard
The storyboard which shows my understanding for camera angles, how characters should placed as to not confuse the watchers, story telling and pacing among other smaller details.
As with most storyboards it only shows directions and was very speedily drawn, not necessarily well-drawn.
2.Backgrounds (Outdoors)
Faraway Stretching Neighbourhood: Maybe I wanted to show off the scope of being outside and how much larger the world could be come if you stod high up enough to see it.
Most of the details are keept simple as to not distrub the eyes way through the drawing, most colors fields simply serve as illusions in this drawing, but looking closely would make it lose its authentisity.
Cartoony Ruins: Very blocky and simplistic and meant to keep in style with much more "geometrical styles".
The leaves, the sun, the trees and the clouds, all have a overly simplified and stylized look to them.
Cross street: A simple sketch of a crossing street
Extra: A compilation of backgrounds showing of various colors that can be found during different times of the day at different locations.
Extra 2: A hectic chase scene taking place on a whole other planet with flashing lights and viechles covered in shade. It's just some sketch work where I'm testing out colors.

2. Backgrounds (Indoors)
Mystical room: A mysterious room, dressed in velvet and strongly nuanced colors washed in the sunlight from the left. To add to the atmosphere I also added plants.
Ambient Trainstation: While this was inspired by old black and white, almost brown-ish, photos I wanted to create the exact opposite to "old", but combining the two created an ambient steampunk environment with objects that seem familiar mixed with oddly shaped lamp posts and so on. There's a suddle mixing of red and green in this to make it stand out a little as well.
Room: A room, not much more to add. It's a fairly old drawing but is very well suited to show what an uncolored indoors background drawing by me could look like. I'm fairly certain a reference photo was involed in this.

1.Character Designs
Advanced: A medieval fantasy girl design with some pirate vibes. Drawn to showcase a bit more of an advanced style and shading.
Simple: Character designs reminiscent of what you would see in cartoons aired on televsion. Very simplistic in their nature and for the most part composed of very easy to map geometric shapes. Keep an eye out for these guys, they will appear again as part of my storyboard!
Mechanical: Robot designs, a contrast between old and rusty and new and slick. To further emphasise this the older mech design has a more rectangular shape along with sharp edges while the modern is white, shiny and rounded.
Dogs: Three dogs with a bit of character, alongside them is a cat.
Western: A result of my understanding for what makes western designs, and also why they're appealing.
A modern super hero ninja, a comic book styled hero/villian, an almost pixar-like coffee brewer, a character who clearly lacks bones in his limbs (perfect for comedy cartoons of today), and of course osmething soft and fluffy for the children!

Eastern: Very much like the previous collection of popular western design choices, I'm displaying an understanding for eastern designs from various decades, going from the bulky 80s, the slim 90s and to the cutesy and baby-like 00s. Accompaniying these estetic elements are, naturally, my own designs, an old man for the bulky style, a space jump suit for the slimmer 90s design and just an ordinary school girl for the dull 00s design.
Anthrophomorphic & Misc.: Just a few random designs, with an overweight food-lusting pig to a flat almost paper-cut style.

"Personal": What could be considered an even more personal style of mine, I redrew one of my own characters whose earlier designs you will be able to see again in later parts of the portfolio. For the lack of better names to categorize the design, I'll just call its category "Personal".
